Following fire damage to their existing facility, Penn State Construction led the full reconstruction of a 3,700 square foot commercial office building for Maple Lawn Associates in McAllisterville, Juniata County. The approximately $1 million project encompassed all phases of construction from permitting and engineering through final finishes. Structural work included a new CMU masonry fire barrier wall, 2x6 wood-framed exterior walls with metal roofing and siding to match the existing facility aesthetics, and shop-fabricated wood roof trusses. Interior finishes include epoxy quartz flooring, acoustical tile ceilings, TrussCore panels in the wash room, and full drywall throughout. The building received 18 new hollow metal doors, six new double-hung vinyl windows, a new loading dock door, and keypad entry hardware. All mechanical, plumbing, electrical, data cabling, and fire alarm systems were installed new. PSC also repaired fire and smoke damage to the connecting hallway, restored the dock leveler, and coordinated closely with the owner throughout to minimize disruption to ongoing operations.
